Seamus Garrity

Director

Seamus Garrity is a Los Angeles-based political strategist with more than a decade of experience in land use, transportation, and housing policy. With deep roots in both Southern California and the state capital, he leverages his strong Sacramento relationships to resolve complex infrastructure and entitlement challenges across the greater Los Angeles region.

Seamus began his policy career in the California State Assembly, where he served for six years as Transportation and Housing Deputy to Assemblymember Laura Friedman. In that role, he led efforts to address homelessness, expand access to affordable housing, and advance major multi-jurisdictional transportation projects throughout LA County.

In 2020, he convened the Hollywood Corridor Working Group to coordinate between Caltrans, elected officials, and local agencies in addressing the impacts of homelessness and debris along Highway 101. Two years later, he played a key role in securing state funding for critical safety improvements in Griffith Park through a partnership between L.A. Councilmember Nithya Raman and Assemblymember Friedman.

Seamus lives in Silver Lake with his wife and two children. He is a former Commissioner on the East Los Angeles Area Planning Commission and a past member of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council. A classically trained pianist and avid cyclist, he remains passionate about building a healthier, more connected Los Angeles.
