Edie Alderette-Sellers

Director of Operations

Edie Alderette Sellers is a management and journalism professional with years of experience keeping businesses on track and moving forward. She’s adept at nearly all aspects of management and fiercely passionate about technology, politics, and land use, making her the perfect fit as Lighthouse’s Director of Operations. The great-great granddaughter of a California pioneer who found fortune on the Barbary Coast during the Gold Rush, Edie remains the managing partner of her family’s real-estate trust that carries on from that time.

Prior to joining Lighthouse Public Affairs, Edie spent more than 15 years covering neighborhood politics, planning, land use, and education in the Bay Area for newspapers including the San Francisco Independent and the San Francisco Examiner. From 2005 to 2008, she could be heard on KGO radio in San Francisco covering politics and news. She spent five years as a lead airport-operations agent for JetBlue at SFO, and from 2017 to 2019, she was CFO/COO of a drone-development and entertainment company. When she’s not keeping Lighthouse running on all cylinders, she’s also managing her family’s real-estate trust and her own East Bay residential real-estate company with her brother.

Edie is passionate about community empowerment and sufficiency and is a certified CERT trainer and founding member of the Point Richmond CERT team. She also serves on the board of the Point Richmond Neighborhood Council as its Vice President. In 2019, she was awarded the City of Richmond’s CERT/CAPER Volunteer of the Year for her work communicating real-time updates and safety advisories via social media to residents during Richmond’s devastating 2018 Sims Metal scrapyard fire. A graduate of San Francisco State University, where she received her B.A. in communications, she is a founding sister of the university’s Alpha Phi chapter. Edie is also a passionate technophile – she’s a licensed drone pilot, has hosted a weekly podcast since 2008, and is avid video-game enthusiast. She is a 35-year resident of Point Richmond.
